October

Page has turned into a big girl overnight! It makes me a little sad to see her growing up. Page likes to walk backwards, sings along to her favorite cartoon theme songs, knows she's 2 years old, says Halloween so sweet, loves to balance by walking lines and curbing, can count to 3, has started repeating the things we say, likes to swing on the big girl swing, asks why, likes to learn new words and point to body parts, has become quite polite with "please," "thank you," & "sorry," says 3-4 word sentences, is organized with her play, and she is becoming very independent!

Page started a pre-preschool class this month and is learning letters, numbers, shapes, and colors as well as doing music, story time, science, and art! She also started a dance class and is loving it!

We kept busy this month with Pa Tony's birthday celebration, a play date with JJ, started a garden, celebrated Grandma Beth's birthday at Sour Dough Pizza, went to Ethan's 1st birthday party at Tumbleweed park, and got to see Aunt Heidi and the rest of the Hickman family!

We also had lots of Halloween fun! We decorated, went to the Pumpkin and Chili Party at Schnepf Farm, walked the neighborhood many times admiring the decorations, went to Boo at the Zoo with Grammy, had fun at the Crane's Halloween party, carved pumpkins, had a great Halloween Party at school, and loved Trick or Treating :) The holidays are just so much fun with kids!!

In other news, little Page had a head cold earlier this month. She also had an EDG with biopsies at Phoenix Children's Hospital. The biopsy results show no allergies but esophageal irritation consistent with reflux. We will continue with Zantac and discuss other options at next months appointment. Page has been refusing 2-3 of her 4 glasses of milk for the last couple of weeks so she will have a weight check tomorrow. She has been eating well though ;)

Never a dull moment at the Hickman house! We love our sweet girl so very much and are so proud of the little person she is becoming!!

A few pictures of our little love :)

Page had a blast walking the neighborhood as Minnie Mouse! She even did a little Trick or Treating ;) She also loved looking at her candy and giving out candy to the kids who came to the door! We just love this sweet girl :)

Page's EGD

On Friday, my friend and Child Life Specialist Sarah gave us a pre-op tour in preparation for Page's EGD (upper endoscopy) with biopsies today. Page hasn't been able to wean off her Zantac, so Dr. McOmber wants to rule out allergies and celiac disease. Page had a fun time seeing the facilities at Phoenix Children's Hospital!

Pizza in the cafeteria after our tour ;) Yep, Grammy came with us!

Sarah also gave us some anesthesia goodies, so we could do medical play this weekend!
Dr. Page :)

I woke Page up at 5:20 this morning, so we could check in at 6am. Luckily she was in a good mood and didn't realizes she was NPO! All the staff were great and child-friendly!!

Page Playing in Pre-op

Our little sweet pea in recovery. As soon as she woke up, she popped up and demanded we take her IV out. She didn't want to drink for the nurse but was ready to go. She wanted to walk but was too unsteady, started to crawl instead ;) I carried her to the car despite her efforts. She is one strong-willed little lady!

Drank her whole cup of water in the car. Got upset part way home because she wanted Mommy to hold her. Good thing Grammy was with us :)

Lots of cuddles this morning. We were home by 9am!

Page is doing great! Eating, drinking, peeing, and playing :) Just put her down for her nap.

The EGD looked normal, we will get the biopsy results next week. So thankful to the amazing staff at Phoenix Children's Hospital for taking such good care of our little love!!
