18 Months Old!!

Miss Page is 18 months old today! Where does the time go?! It has been another exciting month for Page! She went to the McCormick Ranch Train Park's Holiday Lights event, enjoyed Zoolights at the Phoenix Zoo, and went to Brayden's 2nd Birthday Party! Classes started up this month. Page is enjoying her new Music in Motion class and free play at Wiggle Worm Adventures. Both are hosted by the city at the McQueen Activity Center. Page tried Toddler Story Time at the Gilbert library, but isn't quite ready to sit still. Until she's ready, her and grandma have their own fun at the library. My mom calls it "library awareness." Page had her GI appointment earlier this month and got yet another synagis injection. She is a trooper! Page is sleeping through the night, most nights that is, and is no longer drinking milk at night. This makes mommy and daddy very happy! Page's car seat is now forward facing. We hoped to wait until she turned 2 to make the switch, but she has gotten so tall and car rides were becoming uncomfortable. Page has started eating whole pieces of food. She's very proud of herself for biting and chewing up the food all by herself! She has also started using a spoon and drinking from a cup! These are all works in progress, but exciting nonetheless! Eye tooth #1 arrived today and the others won't be far behind. Poor Page has a sore mouth! Page continues to say new words and makes lots of sounds. Consistent words include mama, dada, up, over, hi, and ball! Page's closet got a makeover this weekend! She is finally in her 18 month clothes! Page is a climber and she shows no fear. We have to watch her like a hawk! She gives the best hugs, has a contagious laugh, and thinks stinky feet are hilarious! Page continues to love the outdoors, even if its in the 30's! She enjoys walking and actually hates the stroller these days! Page loves each and every toy in her playroom, but this month she is really starting to understand "make believe play." It's fun to watch her imagination develop! Page is an absolute delight. We love her more than we ever believed possible! Our baby is becoming a big girl and we are loving every minute.

Happy 18 month birthday baby girl! Don't grow up too fast now :)

GI Appointment

Page had a GI appointment this morning. She is doing great! Page continues to catch up with weight gain. She weighs 21lbs 13.5oz which brings her up to the 18th percentile! At the same time she continues to get taller which is why she looks skinny :) I forgot to ask her height but the doctor mentioned Page is at the 80th percentile. The GI doctor is very happy with Page's progress! He wanted her BMI (Body Mass Index) above the 5th percentile & she is at the 9th percentile. At this point we will continue with the current plan of 800-900 calories a day with 1-2 bottles of Pediasure & follow up in 4 months. He wants us to continue to monitor Page's weight but can do the weight checks anywhere. I believe we will stop with the supplements & stop seeing GI once Page's BMI is above the 25th percentile. We have a tall skinny little girl but she's happy & heathy so we are thankful! Happy New Year!!
